When he arrived I asked him if he had the scan tool to register/code the battery. He told me no scan tool was necessary I immediately called customer service they advised me I would need to make another appointment with a mechanic that had the proper scan tool. I gave the phone to the mechanic he and customer service agreed he would complete the install and try to code with a scan tool he had not Audi specific.
