Mechanic's Assistant: Have you checked the brake fluid? When was it last changed?
It was very low but I topped it up. It was changed when she got her brakes replaced

Sometimes it may take a moment for me to respond because I may have to look up information about your concern. I appreciate your patience and will provide responses as soon as possible.
The brakes will grind when the brake pads are completely worn out. The reason the brake fluid is low is because the pistons on the brake calipers are pushed almost all the way out. This will make the fluid drop because the calipers are full of fluid. You'll have to change the brake pads and rotors to fix this problem.
My goal is to give you the best service possible and to help you. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to let me know. If I’m not online at the time, I will respond ASAP when I get back.
