I have a 2014 VW Passat, on Thursday the vehicle stopped, overheating. VW dealer collected the vehicle, now I am told the coolant container is full of debri, unable to clean out and if they have to flush the system it will costs over $10,000/. My vehicle has only been serviced by the same VW dealer since purchase and the vehicle has 140,000 miles so the advice is to get a new vehicle as they have never seen this problem. The Thermostat has been changed, but still overheating and the coolant is drained and continues to be full of debri Mechanic's Assistant: Have you checked the coolant? Have you checked for a leak in the cooling system? Yes they have checked for leaks and none found, thermostat also changes and keeps blowing out Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Passat yourself? What have you tried so far? No the vehicle always goes to a VW dealer in Charlotte NC, always serviced when it is due and never a problem until now Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you? Well I am told that the super technician has seen the car, no one knows the problem and never seen this before so best option is to buy a new car.

**Hello, Welcome to JustAnswer.** Thank you for using JustAnswer. I am sorry to here this, This super technician is surly form another planet. Radiator flus should be able to clean the system in no time flat. The radiator can be removed and striped and cleaned. I cannot see why they want such a lot of money. Please let me know more as this does not really make sens. Greetings, Martin.

They have flushed the system multiple times and grit still keeps coming out of itAs it was taken to a dealer to strip and clean it will still be expensive. I am unwilling to pay 4000 for repairs

What money are we talking now?

they changed fans, thermostat and flushed the system 13 times and it did not fix the issue
Automotive Expert
Well I would agree with them on having have to strip the engine to see why it does not clean out with the flush as it shoed not be a problem at all.
