Hello and welcome to Just Answer. My name is \*\*\*\*\* \*\*\*\*\* I will be the expert to assist you today. I'm going to need a little bit more information to assist properly. You mentioned the "Brakes" groan when applying. Does the Steering Wheel shake or shimmy when applying the brakes? Does the pedal pulsate when applying the brakes? does it happen all the time? first thing in the morning? you mention the Pads have been changed and the Disk, do you mean the Rotors were replaced? What type of pads did the mechanic install? Based on your answers I will provide you what to inspect. Thanks!

Hi Daniel, the steering does not shake, the pedal sometimes do pulsate, the pulsating is NOT at all times, No not first in the morning, the disc plates were replaced, and metal pad (a higher grade of pads according to the mechanic).I will prefer to chat

Thank you for the information. There are several reasons the brakes could "Groan" when applying. You mention "Metal" pads. I've never heard that term before and there are no such things. There are Ceramic Pads, Metallic Pads and Organic pads. If the "Metal" pad your mechanic installed is not specific for your Toyota that could cause the issue right there. I have to step away for a few minutes, be right back.

sorry metallic pads

Can bad bushing case it?the noise happens also when the car is in motion but make louder when the brake is applied
Automotive Expert
Generally no. Bushing can cause squeaks but it is not usually associated with brake application. Do you mean it happens all the time? The question referred to brake application?

most when the brake is applied
Automotive Expert
I would ask the mechanic who replaced the pads to inspect the Caliper Pins, I have seen where the grease dries up and it causes a nose. This sound is usually associated with slow speed braking.

ok, I think i will do just that
Automotive Expert
When you check with your mechanic be sure to ask if the pads are for the Corolla? The wrong pads will cause all kinds of noises. Best of luck with the repairs. Let me know if I can assist in any other way? Happy Holidays!

ok, thanks
Automotive Expert
Anytime. Please keep me posted and don't hesitate to reach out if I can be of any further assistance.

Thank you for your assistant. The car is ok now.
