I have a 2013 Toyota Hybrid [Prius](/topics-prius/). When i accelerate I hear rattling loud noise and it sometimes does it when I start the car too. Its louder when I start the car Mechanic's Assistant: Where exactly do you think the noise is coming from? And how long has this been going on? I believe on the right front passenger side underneath For about 2 months Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Prius yourself? What have you tried so far? I would check this three things as the first step... Engine oil level. [Exhaust](/topics-exhaust-toyota/) shield or the gasket between pipe and cat. Check the motor mounts. Let me know. Thank you.

There are a few more things that can give you also a noise but with a running rough situation ,don't know if your engine runs good when the noise is present . If it does not run good ,maybe its a good time to replace the [spark plugs](/topics-spark-plug-toyota/) and also check the EGR performance ,to do the EGR ,you will need a Toyota capable scanner.
