Second Opinion] My 2004 Toyota [Camry](/topics-camry/) has about 280,000 miles on it. I recently was running low on oil but it was not quite do for an oil change. so I put in a couple quarts of oil and some [engine](/topics-engine-toyota/) cleaner In it thinking that by the time the engine cleaner circulated it would B time for an oil change. I have never used the engine cleaner before. After a few days and maintenance light came on. The car stalled a few times while sitting at a light. And then today while I was driving it it made one loud pop. What should I be watching for?
Mechanic's Assistant: Where exactly do you think the noise is coming from? And how long has this been going on?
I'm guessing the engine. The loud pop is only happened this time
Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Camry yourself? What have you tried so far?
Nothing it just happened

I am guessing that the maintenance light came on because it's near due for an oil change

The directions on the engine cleaner you run it for 15 minutes at idle fully warmed up, you are not supposed to drive with the cleaner in there. the maint light is a mileage reminder. you need to change the oil and filter and get the cleaner out of the car.

did you add a fuel cleaner or to the engine oil?
Either way, I would start with a oil and filter change,
