Hi there, Sorry to hear about all your car troubles. My Name is \*\*\*\*\* \*\*\*\*\* I am an ASE Master Tech here to assist you with your vehicle. Please understand I am not there with you, But I am here to help. Any information about what is going on is greatly appreciated. The system will ask for a phone call, Please let me know if you want this option as I am not always available to do so. Be aware that I am assisting many customers at the same time and will get back to you as quickly as I can but I cannot get answers immediately as I am not a computer. I like to research each answer before I get back to you to ensure that I give out the correct info. Thank you for understanding.
For most vehicles the ECS lights comes on for an electrical fault in this system. Most of the time it is just a faulty wheel speed sensor but you will need to pull the codes for this system to fully know why it came on. Unfortunately you cannot do this with a standard OBD2 code reader and will need an advanced scan tool or factory scan tool to see these faults. So you will need to bring the vehicle to a local shop to see if they will give you these fault codes or just let them do the diagnosis on that system.
As for the tire pressure sensors not showing air this is also something that at home we cannot diagnose other than just low pressure. I would inspect all wheels for proper tire pressure and adjust it to the doorcard inside your drivers door jam. If all ok and the pressure is still not showing up on the dash you will most likely have a faulty tire pressure sensor. These sensors have batteries that are supposed to last around 7 years. Your vehicles age would show that this is past that time and will most likely need new sensors. All shops have specified TPMS tools that will wireless read the sensors to see if there is any battery life left and if no communication the sensor is faulty and will need to be replaced. The average price is about $100 a wheel since you need a new sensor and have to pay the shop for install, tire mount/dismount/balance and programming of the new sensors. You can cut this cost down if you are due for new tires. Just have them install new tires and sensors at the same time. This will cut the cost of the sensor in half and I have found that most shops will do the install/program for free with the cost of tires and sensors.
Still not sure what you need?
