Auto zone scanner can only read Engine Fault codes not Transsmsion fault codes ,youn need dealer scanner for this car to see that module ,around $100 charge

the clunking noise is not good , have the fluid replaced , and have them check the old oil if there any small metal shavings in it , if it is clean then replace fluid and retest ,if small metal shavings was found then do not waist time and money with replacing oil it will need a rebuild trans at that time $100 charge is what to epxect to be chargdr to hook up correct scanner at dealer or nissan repair shop

It doesn't always make noise only this time when switching gear in drive its like it locks or goes into park, but car still has power

Rebuild transsmion on the 2013 nissam is around $1500 there is few shifting solenoids, switchs internal to trans can cause it , but all that can be figured out by hooking nissan corrrect scanner to it and retroeve fault code like i mentioned earlier I m still with you, my replie speed depends on your intenret connection and speed

This description you are providing me sounds like a Bad Torque Converter. This is part of the transmission. I understand you brought this a month ago. Did you buy it privately or from a dealer? Did you happen to have a extended warranty on the car?

That sounds like a torque converter. It would need to be properly diagnosed to verify. But normally you have a 30 day coverage

The torque converter if it internally comes apart. As soon as you put it in gear it locks up and will thump and stall the car.
