Most of the time a misfire on that model is a bad coil on the spark plugs. But with the P0420 code which is a catalytic converter failure, you are going to need to remove the exhaust manifold and check for the convertor for coming apart. On this model, if the convertor comes apart it can suck debris into the engine and cause engine failure.

Still not sure what you need?
Have a certified mobile mechanic diagnose what's wrong with your car, at your home or office.
It sounds like your car is either not getting fuel or not getting spark. This could be caused by dozens of things, from a failed crank sensor to a faulty fuel pump. My advice is to have your vehicle inspected...
My best guess would be the crankshaft position sensor (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/symptoms-of-a-bad-or-failing-crankshaft-position-sensor). I have seen this part fail before without setting a code. It is located on the left side of the engine block, (front of car). It is near the exhaust...
Hello. You mention the power steering reservoir, so just be sure it is oil and not power steering fluid which of course would change the nature of the repair. To answer one of your concerns, if oil leaks onto the...
Hello. A flashing Check Engine Light is a warning that an urgent issue has occurred. A flashing Check Engine Light signifies that the computer has detected a failure that may potentially cause damage to the vehicle's emission system. Continuing to...
Hi there, thanks for writing in. Sounds like this may be related to either transmission components failing, or potentially a fuel delivery problem which may also create the jerking feeling that you're describing. Does the car run fine when in...
Wow! That's quite a list! It can be confusing when you get a whole library of codes like that. There are several things that can make that happen. One is if the car was operated with a dead battery. Another is...
The best thing to do is cross reference the part number with the dealership and the parts store. Keep in mind, the part number on your jeep is from the dealership and not a local parts store. So if you...
The powertrain warning light is intended to alert you to a malfunction in engine controls, the transmission or traction control/ABS. If the problem resolves itself the warning light may turn off. For example, if you have a heavy load, perhaps...
Hi Grace. Thanks for contacting us tonight. We are a bit confused by the description of your vibration; so let's provide a bit of detail for you. If the shaking occurs when you are fully stopped, then the shaking issue...
