You might be having a problem with a lean miss caused by a vacuum leak or even contamination in the fuel. Look for vacuum hoses or rubber boots that are broken, disconnected, or in bad condition. Fuel can be checked by taking a sample and watching it to see if anything settles out. Anything more complicated is going to take special equipment and know how.
