I started my car and let it warm up for about 5 minutes. After backing out of the driveway I couldn't get my car to accelerate, even with the gas pedal pressed to the floor. I pulled back into the driveway to warm it up some more, thinking that it was just too cold. After 10 minutes I tried again with the same result. I turned the car off and then waited about 5 minutes and turned the car back on. I could accelerate again, but it still accelerates sluggishly. It started fine and worked ok, albeit sluggishly on my return trip, 6 hours later. (current temp at the time was around 20 degrees F.)
My car has 23557 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
Hi Jenny. Thanks for contacting us today. Sometimes when it gets extremely cold outside, electrically controlled systems can have difficulty working. So, it’s possible that your throttle control module might be the root issue. However, there are other mechanical causes of this symptom, ranging from a faulty throttle position sensor, an obstruction of debris inside the transmission, or other components. I think since your car is relatively new and has less than 50,000 miles, you might want to contact the dealership where you purchased this Juke and ask them to diagnose this issue, as it could be a warranty service.
