Mechanic's Assistant: Does the light flash, blink or stay solid? Have you tried to reset the security system?
Flashes really fast then it shows down an eventually stops
Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Mountaineer yourself? What have you tried so far?
Oh myself I've tried reprogramming the key I tried I checked out the fuses fuses I don't know how to reset the security system
Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you?
No ma'am I just need to know what I need to do I'm in school to be a mechanic and I don't know what else to do to it

What steps were done to program 2 keys to the vehicle?
Is the battery voltage near 12.6 volts?
Are there PATS antitheft codes stored?
Any aftermarket electronics on the vehicle that may be interfering with the PATS system?

Thanks,
You will need to get another key made then a scan tool is needed to program both keys to the vehicle. You cannot program the keys to this vehicle in any other way and 2 have to be programmed at the same time. There is not a bypass method or reset option. If you do not own a scan tool that has the ability to access the 10-minute security parameter. You can call a locksmith to come to you.
Thank you for seeking us for help, I hope I provided what was needed. Press reply if you need to follow up. If you liked my answer please let me know so I can mark your question complete. Moose
