Mechanic's Assistant: Has the vehicle ever overheated? And when was it last serviced?
Never overheated and it was last serviced a week ago when I got the water pump and thermostat put in
Mechanic's Assistant: What is the make/model/year of your car?
2014 Mercedes cla [250](/topics-250/) I’m hesitant to take it back to Mercedes bc I’m no longer under warranty and it’s $200 for them just to look at it
Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
I had a professional technician put the new parts in ..which include water pump, thermostat, auxiliary pump and [coolant](/topics-coolant-mercedes/)
Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you?
The car has gotten a block test and the fluid was still blue, so it passed that test and the radiator would be my next guess but the fan is working fine ...and also the car is over heating when I’m on a straight away Not when I stop and go

Hi! My name is \*\*\*\*\* \*\*\*\*\* I will be able to assist you. I’m sorry that you’re having trouble with your vehicle. Don’t worry though, we’ll be able to figure this out.
Please understand that I do not know your knowledge or capabilities so I **may** need to ask questions to find out basic information to help solve your specific problem.
Sometimes I have to look up some information so it may take a moment to respond. I appreciate your patience.
The system will give you an automated phone call offer to speak to one of us on the phone **. It is optional.** Some folks prefer to talk on the phone. If you don’t, please ignore it as I cannot control the offer from popping up.
There is either air trapped in the system or the radiator is blocked up. I'm not sure why the technician that installed those parts is not fixing this for free but you'll need to bleed the air out of the system. If all the air is out and it's still overheating then you'll need to check the temperature on the radiator to see if one side of it is much cooler than the other. If that's the case then your radiator is blocked up.
Still not sure what you need?

Hello. If there is blueish smoke coming from the exhaust, then that is an indication that the engine is burning oil (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/What-Does-It-Mean-When-My-Car-Is-Burning-Oil_3). This can come from the valve stem seals or from the piston rings. It can also come from...
Hello. If this occurred right after the oil change then the first thing I would do is check the oil. This will occur if there is too much oil in the engine or if they forgot to put oil back...
Hey there, thanks for writing in about your 2002 Nissan Maxima. You should start by testing the fuel pump pressure. You could try banging on the tank while someone cranks it to see if the pump starts working again. If...
Hey there. Try having the compression checked for each cylinder. I have had experiences where this code pops up due to a lack of compression from a burned exhaust valve. Also, are you using the right fuel? Using inferior fuel...
This may be a sign of a failing throttle position sensor. The throttle position sensor (TPS) is a sensor used to monitor the throttle position of the throttle plate inside the throttle body in relation to your foot position on...
Hi there - the answer to your questions is "maybe". Since water does not compress at all, it takes very little water in a cylinder to cause "hydro-locking" which will cause serious damage to your engine. Perhaps a bigger question...
you will need to have the computer scanned to see if the cooling fan relay can be turned on and off with the computer using the factory scanner or by replacing the fan relays in the fuse box. It is...
It sounds like you may have a faulty AC Compressor (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/ac-compressor-replacement) or potentially a leak in the AC lines somewhere. Car air conditioners work on a simple principle of heat transfer, relying on the fact that heat will always transfer...
