There's no fluid leak, fluid is clean and full. It shifts in to gear but won't move. Will what you're describing cause the check engine light to come on

Typically it would not cause the light to come on.

Yes. It could be a pump failure or torque converter failure. You'll have to get a line pressure test done on it.

Are those expensive fixes

You'll have to pull the transmission out.
