It will be alright to drive it nine miles in my opinion, as long as it's not leaking really bad. Is it really leaking bad, or just an occasional drip?

Yes, I understand, alright, hopefully it's not leaking right out the front, as that would probably be a front pump seal, and would have to come out, but hopefully it's just a line or pan gasket. It will be alright to drive it, I would top it off and drive it if it were mine.

I guess anything is possible, but, I personally have never seen transmission fluid catch on fire before from hitting an exhaust pipe in my 30 years of doing mechanic work. Thank you!
