Hi! My name is AutoDoc1. What’s your name?
I’m sorry that you’re having trouble with your vehicle but don’t worry though, we’ll be able to figure this out.
Please understand that I do not know your knowledge or capabilities so I **may** need to ask questions to find out basic information to help solve your specific problem.
Sometimes I have to look up some information so it may take a moment to respond. I appreciate your patience.
The system will give you an automated phone call offer to speak to one of us on the phone **. It is optional.** Some folks prefer to talk on the phone. If you don’t, please ignore it as I cannot control the offer from popping up.
If the fluids weren't being serviced then your transmission is likely damaged but of course it would need to be tested to be sure. This will be done by performing a pressure test on the transmission. As far as whether or not it's worth it, that would be up to you. I say if you love the vehicle then it's probably worth fixing. If not, then you may need to look for something else. I would still have it tested to see what part of the transmission is the problem though as it may be something inexpensive to fix. Typically if it won't shift out of gear it's a valve body problem.

A switch wouldn't cause this problem. It sounds like there may be an engine problem, clogged exhaust, or fuel issue. Are you able to have it tested?

Ok then your alternator may be faulty. Check the voltage on the battery with the engine running. It should be at least 12.9 volts.

Keeping an eye on the clutch and brake fluid in your car isn’t hard to do. It is important, though. Both of these systems are hydraulic, and low fluid can lead to low pressure and reduced operation. Here’s how to...
I would have a mechanic inspect your steering wheel issue (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/steering-wheel-does-not-respond-properly-inspection). They can check ABS codes with a scan tool to determine the problem. It may be a bad wheel speed sensor.
I believe your air conditioning compressor may be locking up and causing the belt to squeal. The compressor has a clutch that engages the compressor when the A/C is turned on and after a while they may fail and lock...
Hello, thanks for writing in. A no start condition with a click noise can be caused by a few things. The most common causes are a bad starter relay (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/symptoms-of-a-bad-or-failing-starter-relay), or a bad starter or starter solenoid. The starter relay...
The timing belt on your vehicle is recommended to be changed (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/how-long-does-a-timing-belt-last) every 60,000-90,000 miles. If a timing belt fails, the engine will stop running, and you may damage the engine. To get an idea of the cost involved to...
Hi. This could be a problem with the mass air flow sensor (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/mass-airflow-sensor-replacement), throttle position (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/throttle-position-sensor-replacement), fuel pump (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/fuel-pump-replacement), or idle air control valve (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/idle-control-valve-replacement).
