engine off. open cap fill the system up. start squeezing both hoses until no more air bubbles or air pockets are seen coming out(keep the system full while doing this). then leaving the cap off, start the engine, if any coolant sucks down, fill it back up and then start squeezing the hoses again to get any remaining air bubbles out, and keep squeezing until the lower hose starts to get warm.
