I replaced the Vent Valve Solenoid and Purge Valve and the check engine light came back on again for P0449 like before the repair. This code come on 3 weeks after we replaced the Spark Plugs, Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor, cleaned MAF sensor, installed new fuel injectors, and put new air filter in. What else could be wrong? Could it be a fuse and if so which one?

Hi Warren. Thanks for contacting us tonight. The first question I would ask is if you removed the code from the ECU after completing the repairs. When a code is activated, it needs to be removed by a mechanic with a digital scan tool before starting the vehicle again - otherwise, the code will remain and the ECU will not detect a change. If this was completed, you should probably read this article on the P-0449 OBD-II trouble code to review the possible sources and solutions to see if you’ve missed anything. One item in particular is the electrical harness that connects to these components as being the root issue.
