After jump starting car battery(which almost melted the jumper cables and there was alot of sparks too), i got my car to start but it wont move at all. I press the gas pedel to the floor and nothing happens. I am able to move in reverse though...
My car has 120000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
If you got lots of spark then either you hooked up cables backwards or the battery is shorted and will need to be replaced. For the vehicle not moving may be caused by low battery voltage or if you shorted system you may have blown fuses or damaged the computer module. Have the battery and system tested by a mechanic like one from YourMechanic to determine the causes or damages done.
