How does the Battery Saver system work?

Your car’s lights pull power from the battery. If left on too long, they could drain the battery completely, leaving you stuck and in need of a jump start. Thankfully, your Fusion is equipped with a Battery Saver system designed to prevent this from happening. Here’s how it works:

  • The ignition has to be off for the Battery Saver to work.

  • The system will turn off the dome lights within 30 minutes if you used the dimmer control to turn them on.

  • The battery saver will turn off the interior lights within 10 minutes if they were turned on because of an open door or trunk.

  • The headlights will turn off within 10 minutes of you turning the ignition to off.

Rebuilt transmission has oil and reverse but not forward 42re 2004 Dodge Dakota
Hi - this sounds like either the low gear clutch (https://www.yourmechanic.com/question/does-an-automatic-transmission-have-a-clutch) (hydraulic) or the forward drive sprag (mechanical one-way clutch) has malfunctioned. I would recommend a transmission inspection (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/gears-slipping-when-accelerating-inspection) by a mobile, professional mechanic, such as one from YourMechanic, who...

Do you reccomend replacing the rear self leveling air shocks with just standard gas shocks, or stick with the self leveling?

I looked up the two applications. The two transmissions are different and, in particular, the transmission control module and PCM and the wiring harness on your 1999 truck are not compatible with the controls on the 1990 transmission. If you...
