If you move around in your seat, or try and put on your seat belt too quickly, the belt will sometimes lock. When this happens, you won’t be able to extend your seat belt at all. Releasing a locked seat belt is very easy: 1. If the seat belt is already latched, unbuckle it. 2. Let the seat belt retract entirely until it returns to its normal position. 3. Refasten the seat belt, while being careful to pull the belt smoothly and slowly.
