How do I extend the remote vehicle start time?

The remote vehicle start feature allows you to turn on your car from outside of the vehicle, using the remote keyless entry (RKE) transmitter. When you use the remote vehicle start, your engine will run for 10 minutes, or until you start driving. However, you can extend the amount of time that the engine runs by an additional 10 minutes: 1. Press the unlock button on the RKE transmitter. 2. Press and hold the remote vehicle start button on the RKE transmitter for at least two seconds. The turn signals will flash to confirm that the remote vehicle start has been extended. The remote vehicle start extension adds an additional 10 minutes to the run time, rather than resetting to 10 minutes. For instance, if the initial remote vehicle start has been running for five minutes, the extension will result in the engine running for an additional 15 minutes. Tip You can only extend the remote vehicle start once per cycle.
