Mechanic's Assistant: Have you checked the battery, particularly the terminal connections? Are they corroded?
I had just cleaned those
Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Forte yourself? What have you tried so far?
Yes. So far all I’ve done is replace the battery, clean the battery tray, the terminal connectors...and that’s about it
Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you?
I may need an alternator, or a camshaft position sensor, and I think there’s one other thing but I forgot the name of it I think a starter motor or something

Looking at the information you have provided I would first check the fuses incase a fuse has blown then get a diagnostic check done on the vehicles control modules as there should be fault codes stored in the control module related to the symptoms you are getting once you have obtained the fault codes it will point you in the right direction on were to start looking first, if you can smell gasoline it will either be a fuel leak so check to see fi there is any fuel leaking under the vehicle any were or it will be the fuel entering the engine but it might not have any spark so it will be flooding the engine and that might be the fuel smell that you can smell if there is no spark it could be a faulty ignition coil or crankshaft position sensor but that should be found if faulty when you get the diagnostic check done.

I got it started!! But it still sputters some. So I'll look into all the items you listed. And I might have to get a new gas cap since the one I have doesn't clickBut tomorrow I plan on taking it to a shop so I can see what they'll say about it. Thank you for your help!
