Hi. Your symptoms have many potential causes. However, Honda and Acura SUVs have been known to produce a humming sound during low speed turning due to worn differential fluid. Acura refers to the differential system in your vehicle as Variable Torque Management 4x4 (VTM-4). This system uses a control module to engage and disengage clutches in the differential assembly. Noise occurs when the fluid is contaminated by clutch wear, condensation or both. Technical service bulletin (TSB) 04-023 addresses this concern and says to replace the fluid.
