I just did a tune up and now my truck shakes when speeding up from about 1500 to 2000 rpm. Smooths out when pressing gas harder. [Engine](/topics-engine-ford/) sounds better and stronger than before tune up also noticing more tranny slip between gears. Mechanic's Assistant: Have you noticed an increase in fuel consumption? And how does the vehicle start—same as usual? Same as usual and decrease in fuel consumption. Mechanic's Assistant: What is the make/model of your '00 car? 2001 ford f250 5.4 Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your F250 yourself? What have you tried so far? Done it all myself. Looked at maf. Was ubplugged but didnt fix the vibrations. Seems [transmission](/topics-transmission-ford/) slipped less after.I also fixed a donut gasket leak on driver side. Still have major leak on passenger. That fix was 2 weeks ago
Automotive Expert
do you still need help?

Sorry. I checked it again over the weekend.. went to take apart the fuels rails etc and found that coil number 3 was disconnwcted from its harness. Fixed everything. I guess it was misfire.

Leak in manifold
Intake and exhaust manifolds do not effect each other. If you had an exhaust manifold leak then you will hear noise but it should not effect the way the engine runs. If you have an intake manifold leaking then your...
Ignition starts car, but engine won't catch
Hello! I believe the problem will be within your ignition key lock cylinder (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/symptoms-of-a-bad-or-failing-ignition-lock-cylinder). There is a passlock sensor in the ignition key lock cylinder. This sensor is known to become bad overtime. Replacing the ignition key lock cylinder will...

My car rpm fluctuates slightly, during warm up and my temperature gauge also fluctuates intermittently.
Hi, thanks for writing in. My first impression when you described the vibration is that you may have a bad motor mount. When you put the car in Drive or Reverse, the engine shifts slightly. If the rubber in the...
The car idles fine. It revs up but slowly drops RPMs.
Hi there: The idle is controlled by the idle control valve (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/idle-control-valve-replacement), mass air flow sensor (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/mass-airflow-sensor-replacement), and throttle body (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/throttle-body-replacement) of a fuel injected motor. Any of these components could be dirty, damaged, or have faulty wiring that is...
Water pump gasket leaking
Removing the water pump on your vehicle is a 6 hour job and consequently involves pages of procedures, torque specifications, and a lot of detail. Due to the amount of time involved, it is not worth it re-installing the old...
My dash lights, radio, and gauge cluster on my 2007 Nissan 350z are not coming on when the car is started or in accessory mode.
I see no reports of the issue (in the NHTSA database, for instance) you are describing and so there are no obvious clues. You are lucky, though, that the issue is not now intermittent because all that you need do...
When replacing the AC Compressor, do I need to replace both expansion valves as well or just the front
Hi there. Anytime you replace major air conditioning system components like the AC compressor (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/ac-compressor-replacement), it's recommended to purchase all supporting hardware and replace it at the same time. AC works as a series of individual components working efficiently together...
