Mechanic's Assistant: Have you noticed an increase in fuel consumption? And how does the Ford start—same as usual?
I did a head gasket change and rethreaded the [spark plugs](/topics-spark-plug-ford/) and put it back together now it won't start and I'm assuming it's the gas leaking I try to start the engine it cranks but won't turn over well as I got out the car I just noticed I heard leaking from under the car and it's gas leaking I can't tell exactly where it's coming from but it it's a lot and it's coming like in between that area that the [transmission](/topics-transmission-ford/) and motor is maybe even the firewall but maybe you can guide me just to what hoses have gas in it
Mechanic's Assistant: What year is your Spark?
It's up 03 Ford expedition 4.6 Triton
Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Spark yourself? What have you tried so far?
Yes I'm fixing it myself I already broke the engine down put new gaskets rethreaded the hose on the head for the spark plug and put it back together did the timing my timing marks were aligned how it said in the book and I put it back together I tried to start it it cranks just won't turn over but I'm figuring it's not getting fuel from wherever the fuel is leaking from huge leak I'm talking about maybe a quarter of a gallon or a half a quarter of a gallon leaking
Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you?
No thank you nothing else

Hello, a fuel leak of that size would most likely be either a leaking fuel supply line or an injector or injector oring. You should be able to isolate the fuel leak. You can also disconnect the fuel line going to the fuel line and cap it. If it still leaks it is from the capped portion back to the rear fuel tank./

No problem, take your time, if it leaks when the key is turned on, it will be on the supply to the engine or fuel rail. If it leaks only when cranking, it would be an injector or oring to the intake on the bottom of the injector.

Ok, well you will need to check your work, check for vacuum leaks and run a diagnostic check for codes. That would be a different subject than the original question of a fuel leak.

The first question I have for you is whether it has had its timing belt (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/how-does-a-timing-belt-work) replaced? The maintenance interval on your timing belt is 105,000 miles (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/how-long-does-a-timing-belt-last).
