I have a 2011 ford focus and this past weekend, it stopped running. It would sound like the [engine](/topics-engine-ford/) was trying to turn over but then it would die. We checked the computer and no codes were thrown. When I put into reverse or neutral, it wouldn't even turn over. It only gets to turn o It only tries to turn over in park. Battery was just replaced recently Mechanic's Assistant: Does the engine spark at all? Is there a trouble code or is your "check engine light" on? There's a check engine light on when I turn the key along with the oil pressure light and check battery light. Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Focus yourself? What have you tried so far? We thought it was a [spark plug](/topics-spark-plug-ford/) issue, so I replaced the spark plugs and nothing changed. We haven't tried anything else since no codes were thrown Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you? Yes, it didn't do the abruptly. It started acting weird about a week ago, it would start up and make a loud whirring sound as soon as I turned it on and then it would get quiet. It would happen sporadically. My car just stopped running before I got the chance to take it to a mechanic
