the timing is not right. does not matter which way you turn it its getting bound up by likely the valves hitting the piston. Because you had already tried to start it the force to which the starter motors have you bent some valves. The heads will need to come back off and take to a machine shop for a compression test.

Which valves
KEVIN KELLER

the ones in the head
Customer

I set the timing chain on the marksI dont understand how the timing is not right
KEVIN KELLER

what about the secondary chains on the head?
if you can not turn the engine by hand but just 180 of the 360 the only thing that would interfere would the valves from the head hitting the top of the pistons. you did not take apart the bottom of the engine so anything there is not relevant to the engine not spinning. Only thing that was messed with was the time chains there for the timing is not correct causing the valves to come down at the wrong time hitting the top of the piston's.

Now those I can honestly say they probably weren't when first attempt to start car but they are nowEven if I did one head at a timeInstead of both at same timeLess movement of chain

does not mater once the tension of the chain is off from the tensioner they move.
any time the 2.7 part of the chain is removed or replaced always need to be realigned.
Customer

Realigned as in setting the chain on marks

yeah that's the alignment plate the lines are counted to the crank then to the 2nd cam they also have them on the heads
Customer

after you put the heads back one did you do all 3 timing chains at the same time ?
and do you remove the chain set the crank and number 1 piston to TDC or did you just slip the chains back on the same area when you took them off?
Customer
See I lined up main chain attempted to start it nothing then did some research found out secondary chains had marking also so I then lined those up and still nothingHonestly I just slipped them back on how they wereBut lined up marks

ok well the damage was done the vary first time the chains where not aligned there is zero room for error.

already told you bent valves
you get to take it all back apart both heads take them to a machine shop and have them tested for bent vales also im also going to assume that you did not do this to start with did you have the heads decked? because im just guessing here let me know if im wrong. your car was over heating and some one told you the headgaskets were to blame right?

No it wasn't overheating my coolant reservoir was bubbling and I constantly putting coolant but had no leaksWhere was my coolant going?
KEVIN KELLER
Automotive Expert
ok if your having to put coolant in its going somewhere only 1 of 2 places out the engine or in the engine if its bubbling its over heating. you did not take the heads to have them decked so there for the headgasket you put in will not do anything. Look at the haedgasket you felt it you saw it 3 layers of steel. an engine will only make 150 to 180lbs of compression no way that will break 3 layers of steel. So what happened the head looks like bacon and the gas gets by the headgasket and cause it to push out the coolant. It will do the same thing because the heads are still warped.
