Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Intrepid yourself? What have you tried so far?
I am trying to fix it myself. I haven't tried anything yet. I'm a single mom, I can't afford a mechanic.
Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you?
No that's it

Hello and welcome to just answer. My name is \*\*\*\*\* \*\*\*\*\* I will assist you today. I am sorry you are having this problem but hopefully I can help. It is probably just the hazards that are stuck on because the turn signals need to have the key on whereas the hazards do not. Most likely the hazard switch, but let me pull up the wiring diagram and research this a bit and get back to you asap.

You are welcome! Okay, after looking over the wiring diagram I see that fuse # 0 (a 20 amp) in the under hood fuse box/PDC is the fuse for the hazard lights. I am pretty sure the turn signal/hazard switch is the problem. Pull that fuse and see if they stop. BUT before you do that let's see if we can un stick that switch. Repeatedly turn on and off the hazard button on top of the steering column. Do it several times really fast. Let me know if that works.

Okay, based on that information, check fuse # 9 in the inside fuse box. If it is okay, then the turn signal/hazard switch assy will need to be replaced.

Okay, let me see what it will run you to replace it. Be right back
Chris
Labor to replace it is .8 of an hour, and the part is around $50.00 . So at a labor rate of $150.00 per hour, the labor would be $120.00. So parts and labor would be $170.00 plus tax on the part. Note that the labor rates between shops may vary and that will affect the total repair cost.

You are very welcome! I doubt it is a crossed wire, but good question! I have seen this problem you are having and I am pretty sure it is the switch.
