My father burned out my clutch on my '13 Veloster Turbo and I know I need to replace the clutch disk and pressure plate. Normally, you would also replace the release bearing too to fix a clutch, but my car doesn't have one of those as a singular part. I was told its a part of my slave cylinder which costs about 3 times as much as a normal release bearing. Do I HAVE TO replace my slave cylinder also along with the disk and plate? What's the worse that can happen if I leave the old slave cylinder and just replace the clutch disk and pressure plate? How often should I replace my slave cylinder? Please help! I have to make a decision asap. Thanks a million!

You should replace the clutch slave cylinder as it incorporates the release bearing. The release bearing is the part that gets worn and may fail in a short time if you decide to not replace it. Even if the slave cylinder hydraulic functions normally your release bearing has a bearing then is designed to be replaced with each clutch replacement. If you do not replace it then it may fail and damage the new clutch you install.
