Following a collision with a deer there is a good chance that it has put a small hole in your radiator and that could explain the steam/smoke you are seeing. I would check the coolant level and top it up as needed. I would also suggest a pressure test on the cooling system to locate any leaks and replace the radiator as needed. Hope that helps.
Still not sure what you need?
Have a certified mobile mechanic diagnose what's wrong with your car, at your home or office.
When your engine is idling, the vehicle is likely stopped which lowers the airflow through the radiator. The more airflow the radiator receives the more likely the engine is to remain cool. When the air conditioning is turned on the...
I don't think it would damage the elements since they are encased in plastic material. I would however recommend not spraying anything directly on the seats. In the future you should apply it on a clean rag and wipe it...
Hi, thanks for writing in. If you hook up a scanner, it should give you codes. You can just have the key on the engine off. If you are not getting any output of codes, then you may have a...
Your battery light coming on may mean a few things such as a weak battery, a failing alternator, or a failing voltage regulator. This may be a sign of a failing voltage regulator or failing alternator. As you may know,...
Hi there. If your transmission has a floor mounted shifter then there would be no change at all. If the transmission in your vehicle has a column shifter the the linkage would be different. Otherwise, the transmission are the same...
Hi there. This can be caused by a number of things. I would first check to see if the check engine light is on and if there are any codes in the system. If there are any codes then it...
Hello. I suggest that you test the idle air control valve operation and check the throttle body for excessive buildup. Both of which can cause erratic idling. At your particular mileage it will be a great idea to have your...
To answer your first question, "Is my engine dead?", I would fix the leak, add oil and see if the truck runs and if it runs, see if there's any noise. If the engine does run, and there is no...
It is possible that some internal damage may have occurred on your transmission. I would recommend having the major components of your transmission inspected by a qualified transmission specialist to determine the exact cause of this issue.
