Thank you for holding Stacy,
The code P2135 is a common code to set on your 2112 Z-71 with the 5.3 engine and in most cases its set due to a failing throttle body. Your 5.3 has an electronic throttle body and when it fails you will get the warning messages as well as the symptoms you are getting. The fix is in most cases is going to require having to replace the throttle body assembly.

About how much does that costCan I get by with just replacing the sensor switchFor a temporary fix

The labor to remove and replace the throttle body call for .5 of none hour and they will most likely want to diagnose it for about one other hour in labor so you're looking at 1.5 in labor and a new OEM throttle body list for $321.88. This price may vary a little as well depending on market pricing in your area. There is no sensor that you can replace the will resolve this for you. One thing you can try first it to have the throttle body bore cleaned, there is a slight chance cleaning it will help with this code.

Is there a mechanic that can do it on side of the road

There may be, you are going to need to do a search in your area for a Mobile mechanic and see If they can come out to you. If that is not an option in your area then unfortunately you are going to need to have the truck towed.

Okay, hopefully, there is a mobile mechanic available and can help you out with this, nothing worse them being stranded on the road.
