My abs in 2001 chevy suburban keeps running after the suv is shut off. While the fuse is in it. Hi there, Sorry to hear about all your car troubles. My Name is \*\*\*\*\* \*\*\*\*\* I am an ASE Master Tech here to assist you with your vehicle. Please understand I am not there with you, But I am here to help. Any information about what is going on is greatly appreciated. The system will ask for a phone call, Please let me know if you want this option as I am not always available to do so. Be aware that I am assisting many customers at the same time and will get back to you as quickly as I can but I cannot get answers immediately as I am not a computer. I like to research each answer before I get back to you to ensure that I give out the correct info. Thank you for understanding. This could be a few different things causing this. If you remove the fuse and the ABS unit shuts down then this would indicate a fault at or after the fuse. For this I would suggest tracing the wiring from the fuse block to the ABS pump to make sure there are no wires cut or chaffed that would cause a short to power in the power wire for the ABS pump as this can cause the pump to stay on when voltage is present. Next you will want to disconnect the pump and check voltage at the connector with and without the pump plugged in. This unit may have power at all times but there may be a short within it. One of the most common issues would be corrosion in the connector since this is exposed to dirt/debris and water it can corrode over time and short out two or more circuits. I would suggest at this time to just leave the ABS unit unplugged if you do not plan on repairing it. You will just need to be cautious on hard braking or making quick stops in poor weather. A standard diagnosis for this issue is typically around $100 and if you are not familiar with electrical type faults I would highly suggest having them do the diagnosis and if the repair is to high you can just leave the ABS system disconnected and have no abs. This is the case for most customers since the ABS pump alone for this vehicle is around $1000 or more. Let alone the install and bleeding procedure with ABS activation. I always shoot for a 5 start review. If you have any other questions or in need of any other help, please let me know. If you think my answer was not that of a 5 star rating please let me know what I can do to assist you further. I want to answer all concerns that you have about this issue. Tips are not required but greatly appreciated, I work hard to give you the best answer and appreciate the extra thank you on your side. Thank you for understanding and thank you for using Just Answer!
