Hello! Welcome to JustAnswer. Thank you for contacting us for assistance with your Vehicle. My name is \*\*\*\*\* \*\*\*\*\* I'll be helping you today. I'm so sorry you are having this issue with your Vehicle, I know it can be frustrating.
Traction control activating will not cause the engine to overheat, and even being under a heavy continuous load shouldn't cause it to overheat, unless there is an issue with the cooling system. This could be low coolant from a leak, a bad thermostat, fans not running, etc.

No just when the engine gets to operating temperature, they should cycle on and off to help keep the temperature constant.

The thermostat could be stuck closed. It would be a good place to start to replace the thermostat and fill then bleed the cooling system.

Ok thank you. The thermostat is kind of difficult to get to on this engine. I would recommend bringing it to your local Chevy dealer.

You need to bring it to an automotive mechanic
Still not sure what you need?
Have a certified mobile mechanic diagnose what's wrong with your car, at your home or office.
I would think the noise is from the belt tensioner pulley or the bearing in the compressor pulley. I would have the noise checked sooner then later since a failed bearing or pulley can leave you stranded on the road...
Sorry, but there is simply no reliable quick fix for a blown head gasket. I am not a fan of "mechanic in a can". They rarely work, and when the do, it doesn't usually last very long. Many sealants work...

Hey there, thanks for writing in to YourMechanic. There are many things this may be, ranging from front differential problems to an out of balance tire to bad wheel bearings (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/wheel-bearings-replacement). For an issue like this I would recommend having...
It sounds like the valve cover is leaking, allowing the oil to leak down into the spark plug recess as you have noted. Not only will a leaky valve cover result in the oily smell that you detected, it can...
