Hi, my name is\*\*\*\*\* to justanswer. Probably the easiest way to check for fraud is to do a car fax check on the vehicle. This can be done online with a VIN number from the vehicle.
**\*\*During this conversation you will be given an automated offer for a phone call. You may accept or decline that offer.I don’t personally offer this service so if you take this another tech may call.**

A **Carfax** report is essentially a data snapshot of a number of different available data records. It gathers information from police departments, insurance companies, DMVs, and auction houses to piece together a history on nearly every car out there.

I'll have to admit, when looking at a car that old, i don't think mileage would be a huge issue. I would be looking at overall condition and how well it runs and shifts.
That mileage is actually pretty low for the year. 12-15k a year is average mileage.
At least here in the states.

I don't think so. Its hard to do odometer tampering. Have you seen the car? How does it look overall? Do you know the previous owners?

I hadnt seen the car but I have photos of the car and I dont know any previous owner..As per the history check it was currently owned by a pensioner

Do you have a local mechanic you can take the car too?

That would explain the low mileage (being owned by a pensioner)
I highly doubt it. Pensioners take care of their vehicles. I would go check it out and make your own decision.
Don't be worried about the tampering.
Go for it!

..And this being your first car, you might want to ask around for a reputable repair shop to start using. Unless you are doing your own repairs.

Again, pensioners are known to take care of their belongings. Ask your grand dad.
