Mechanic's Assistant: How old are the hoses? And just to clarify, can you actually see the leak?
I'm not sure how old the are. I can see a very slow leak under radiator.

1987 Pontiac Sunbird
Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Sunbird yourself? What have you tried so far?

Hello, my name is \*\*\*\*\* \*\*\*\*\* white smoke coming from your exhaust is coolant getting into your combustion chamber - that is caused by a blown head gasket or a crack in the head or the block - usually from being overheated - it may not have been doing it before, because with a blown radiator, the system can't build enough pressure, but now that is repaired, it can

Well before the radiator was put in, a new head gasket was put inBut I dont know if there was a crack in the block. Is that something easily noticeable when you change a head gasket?

The cylinder walls have to be magnafluxed with a dye to check for cracks - same with the head

Dexcool is good - wouldn't have an affect on the cooling system - it is actually better than silicate coolant (old green coolant)

No - it has to be getting coolant in the combustion chamber - the only other thing I have seen is if the intake gasket is blown between a coolant passage - but all of that should be newA pcv issue is usually blue smoke

It is possible that your brake fluid could be leaking into the power brake booster. This is the big round container that the master cylinder is bolted to. The brake booster operates off of the vacuum created by the engine...
It needs to be determined where the leak is coming from. Is it engine oil? Power steering fluid? Transmission fluid? Some leaks are easy fixes, some can be quite expensive. A qualified mechanic from YourMechanic can come out and diagnose...
The problem is most likely the motor for the power antenna. Motors wear out over time (28 years) and will eventually stop working. I would first check the fuse to see if it is blown, if so the antenna motor...

If the Check Engine Light (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/check-engine-light-is-on-inspection) is on, then a fault code is set. While yes it could be the TPS, have the system diagnosed and fault codes pulled to verify what is actually causing the issue. If you replace...
Hello - these 2 components mount on each cylinder head, and are partially visible at the "nose" (accessory belt end) of the engine. They use engine oil pressure to vary cam timing relative to the static cam/crankshaft timing relationship. Here...
The engine code (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/check-engine-light-is-on-inspection) you are receiving stands for "Intake Manifold Runner Performance Bank 1". This may mean the vehicle is going to need an new intake manifold, or it may mean the VCMA has failed. This has been an...
Hi there. Grab a flashlight and look under the vehicle for where the coolant leak is coming from. Either there is a gasket, hose, or freeze plug that is leaking causing the coolant to leak or the engine has cracked....
