I'm replacing the thermostat in my 2000 crv. I'm having trouble getting the temp sensor off because I don't have the right socket. Wondering if there's a different way I can take it off? Mechanic's Assistant: Have you checked the connectors on the sensor itself? It's important that they not be loose or corroded. Yeah they look fine, just a bit dirty. But I was planning to clean it up. I just don't have the right socket size to get it off Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your CR-V yourself? What have you tried so far? Yeah I'm doing it myself. The plan is to replace the thermostat and coolant hoses, then do a flush. But I need to get the temp sensor off to get to the bolt to take the thermostat housing off. Is there another way to do it besides a 24mm socket?

You can do it with a pair of slip joint pliers, an adjustable wrench or a 24mm wrench if you remove the ground wire above it. It's a tight fit, so it's much easier with a 24mm socket though. See the attached video for reference: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRO2LqWuZ8o](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRO2LqWuZ8o)

Okay, I'll try those first. Might just have to run to the store I guess. Thanks for your help!
