The concern is likely a faulty ignition switch. Is this a GMC Yukon Denali?

Thanks for those details.
If you remove the ignition switch fuse that will kill the engine. Then you will need to disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent the battery from dying overnight. If you plan to diagnose and repair in the morning, I can help with that as well if needed.
