Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you?

Hi there I will do all I can to help. Do you have access to a scanner?
What you need to do is check for spark and for fuel, because you said that you installed a fuel pump, then we could assumne that the fuel is getting there, check if you hear the fuel pump running when you turn the key to the on position.
TO check for spark remove one of the sparkplug wires and connect a sprakplug to it and ground the sprakplug, next have someone turn over the vehicle, you should see the sparkplug sparking.

I dont think the starting fluid will make it work, if the fuel pump is working and there is spark it should at least attempt to fire. can your scanner read live data?

The damages would need to be looked at to see what is broken before a diagnosis can be given. Keep in mind that if the radiator frame is bent, then a new replacement would not fit, or it could get...
Hello there, you are correct. The washer fluid level and the blind spot indicator systems are related. The system shuts off when either the trunk is open or the washer fluid is low. If you have filled the washer fluid...
Hello. If the transmission is sticking in gear then that is the first sign of transmission failure. I would like to know how the fluid looked. If it was very dirty then the transmission is failing. If not then it...
Hey there. If the engine electric cooling fan is not turning on, the reason has to be determined. The fault could be due to a bad electric motor, a bad coolant temperature sensor (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/coolant-temperature-switch-sensor-replacement), a failed relay (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/cooling-fan-relay-replacement), or even...
Hello - the repair estimate will, of course, vary depending on what is the source of the leak, but without question, this needs attention before the vehicle is driven anywhere! I recommend a fuel leak inspection (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/smell-in-the-car-inspection) performed by a...
This may be a sign of a faulty ignition coil. Ignition coils (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/ignition-coil-replacement) are coated with a varnish-like insulation that becomes brittle over time after being stretched then contracted repeatedly. The insulation develops small fractures that open when heated and...
Hello, thank you for writing in. The only component that should be in that area is the air suspension strut itself, its sensor, and its electrical connections. Due the the damage being electrical, its possible you have tampered with that...
Hi Clifford. Thanks for contacting us today. Based on your description, it sounds as if you've got a few air bubbles trapped in the brake lines. This is rather common with brake conversion projects, as it can take quite some...
