My 2005 mini Cooper does not work with the key fob. I have to manually open the door and obviously its same key for ignition. I'm asking if I took out the circuit board from inside the key would that have any effect on the car working. Today I did that, this morning used the car no problem with the circuit in key and battery even though the key since I've had it has never worked remotely but then took out circuit later and went to car, opened it and put in ignition and it would not work. Lights work, windscreen wipers etc but car won't start up. Is this the key circuit or nothing to do with it.??? 郎 Mechanic's Assistant: Have you checked the fob's battery?
