I have a 1969 AMC AMX that has been in storage for about 4 years and I would like to put it back in service. Can you help? Mechanic's Assistant: What is the model of your '69 AMC? AMX Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far? No I haven't but the motor has run in the last year, but I want to get it fully operating and run through the entire procedure as if I was bringing it out of long term storage Mechanic's Assistant: How many miles are on the AMC? Is it an automatic or a manual transmission? I'm away from the storage building but the mileage is about 100,000 Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you? The engine does fire up but there is a coolant leak on the firewall going to the heater coil.

Good Day. My name is \*\*\*\*\* \*\*\*\*\* I will be assisitng you with your question today. Your first steps that you would want to begin with is changing out all of the fluids in the vehicle. Oil, Transmission, Differential, Coolant, Brakes etc. Fluids have a finite lifespan and start to degrade over time. Next steps would be to have the braking system insoected for proper operation as the can become seized from non-use. Next would be to confirm the condtiion of the tire. There will be a date of manufacture stamp on the sidewall of the tires. Normay tires are no good after 5 years and would required to be replaced after the are stale dated. Even if the appear good and no weather checking, The componds used in tires start to degrade over time as well.

Thanks Tyler, but I know the drill and was hoping to get connected to a mobile mechanic who could get a number of stored vehicles back in service. Some run and some don't. I want to start with the AMC AMX (1969) which is a classic.

Next steps after that would be to Install a new battery and confirm the starting and charging systems are functioning correctly. Batteries lt over time will discharge. Unfortunately, Just Answer is only an information service for questions and answers. Our experts are located all over the world and you can get any expert at any time who picks up your question. I being loctaed in Canada. if you can provide your location, I can pull up some info for mobile mechanics in your area? Very nice car to start with as well! Ive restored a few AMCs over the years and the AMX is one of my favorites, Very rare to come accross where I am.

I want to get back to you to discuss the work but before agreeing to pay I want to know if you have the mobile mechanic who can perform the service.

Hello there, the P0600 code (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/p0600-obd-ii-trouble-code-serial-communication-link-malfunction-by-spencer-clayton) is not one that is normally seen on your 2003 Mercedes ML350. The driver side power window will not roll back up
The most common cause of the window will not roll up (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/window-is-not-going-up-or-down-inspection) is caused by the window regulator binding up causing the motor to bind. I would recommend having the motor and regulator checked and replace motor and regulator. (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/window-motor-regulator-assembly-replacement)...

Getting error code p0340 on my 2002 Ford Taurus DOHC 3.0
Hi - yes, you are correct. This error code (P0340 (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/p0340-obd-ii-trouble-code-camshaft-position-sensor-circuit-malfunction-by-jamahl-walker)) means either the sensor, or the wiring and connectors for this sensor, are malfunctioning. The throttle position sensor has been replaced three times on a 2003 Buick lesabre. What is causing it to go bad?
