Hi Logan. Nice to see you today! I'm sorry to hear you are having this problem. I know this can be frustrating. Logan, does your vehicle have the 4-cylinder or 6-cylinder engine?

Great, Thanks, \*\*\*\*\* \*\*\*\*\* would you say the ticking noise is coming from the top of the engine? Passenger's side? Lower section?

Thanks for holding, Logan.
If the noise is on the passenger's side, there are a few things this can be. This can be a problem with one of the bearings in one of the pulleys, like the idler, tensioner or AC Compressor pulley. This can be a problem more internal, like a loose timing chain. First course of action here is to remove the serpentine belt and run the engine for a very short period- no more than 10 seconds. If the noise is still present with the belt removed, the problem is internal, like a timing chain issue. If the noise is gone with the belt removed, the pulleys will need to be inspected by hand. In the meantime... if the check engine light is on, I would recommend you have the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (aka "P-Codes") scanned from the on-board computer. Many times these p-codes can give much more insight as to where the problem lies. You can have these p-codes read **FREE** (except in California) at any local "big chain" part store (ie. AutoZone, O'Reilly's, Advanced, etc).

Hi. If you have replaced all of those components and now the starter is not engaging I would believe it was the ignition switch. I recommend having a technician come out and check voltage at the solenoid and starter and...
Chevrolet released a Technical Service Bulletin about this issue in 2013. TSB Number:PI-1131. It suggests code P2714 may be caused by a stuck or non-functioning pressure control solenoid. If you've eliminated that as the cause and replaced the TCM, then...
Hello. We will be happy to assist you. I believe that the entire instrument cluster may be faulty. It is highly unlikely that nearly all of the gauges will fail at once. I suggest that you have a technician inspect...
The fuel pressure regulator is leaking fuel into the intake manifold and may have even filled the engine oil with gasoline. You should have the fuel pressure regulator replaced (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/fuel-pressure-regulator-replacement) and the oil and filter (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/change-oil-and-filter) replaced. You may have...
Hi there, thanks for writing in. There is a possibility that the vacuum may have drawn too much power from the accessory plug causing a short, although this is unlikely. You should have a check engine light on which would...
This may suggest a faulty starter solenoid. The starter solenoid is located on the starter and has internal electrical contacts that transmit electricity to the starter. When this fails, it may cause a clicking sound and will not allow the...
You may have not filled the oil completely after the oil change and the oil filter was filled. You need to make sure the oil is full by starting and running the engine for a minute after oil change and...
Hi there. If the camshaft is broken, it is very unlikely that it was caused by your son from trying to start it too much. The starter engages the ring gear on the flywheel which is bolted to the crankshaft,...
If you have 4 wheel drive, the noise might be due to a failed outboard CV joint. Another possibility is brake interference or wheel bearing noise although if you had a defective wheel bearing you would normally hear the noise...
