I’m having suspension issues with my 2009 Cadillac CTS AWD when I turn the wheel seem misaligned and it leans also when turning it feels like a thumping in the center console when I drive I feel every bump it’s like it’s going to fall apart. Can’t afford to fix it and entire suspension at once wondering what I should fix first
Mechanic's Assistant: Do you have power steering? Have you checked the power steering fluid?
Yes the power steering is out or goes in and out the fluid is full but a nasty brownish color
Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your CTS yourself? What have you tried so far?
Fixing it my self considering the cost at a shop is too high I’ve been looking into buying the parts my self just don’t know where to start I’ve been told that the ball joints are bad for sure I’m pretty sure it hasn’t ever had any work done on the suspension since being bought by original owner
Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you?
Had my oil changed about a month ago and it already says 65% oil life remaining had it done at a shop

honestly the best advice I can give you here is to invest in a proper diagnostic to determine the extend of the issues - the vehicle sounds unsafe at present and there is no way I can confidently say a) what is wrong or b) what to fix first. This car has a very complex suspension and steering system which are integrated and not indented to be worked on outside of a professionally equipped garage setting.

That may be true especially with some things like the ecm and other computer components but honestly they charge way too much I have a head light out the part is $100 if I went to the dealer I'd pay well into the hundreds even thousand dollars to do something that might take me longer but I can definitely unscrew bolts avoid touching bulb and replace bolts lolAlternator was bad I bought the part and replaced it my self

replacing parts isn't the hard part, its the diagnosis and programming and calibration of the system - this isn't like changing an alternator, it is way way way more involved
Still not sure what you need?
Have a certified mobile mechanic diagnose what's wrong with your car, at your home or office.
When you receive the OBD code P0300, it means your Buick LeSabre is experiencing a random misfire. This code is given because one or more of the engine’s cylinders are misfiring. While our first instinct is to think spark plugs,...
The starter is the most likely problem with your no crank condition. I would check for proper power getting to the starter main power cable and also a good signal to the small wire at the starter from the ignition...
Hello. A brake fluid leak from the rear tire area could be a broken line or wheel cylinder. Brake fluid leaks can be extremely dangerous and lead to loss of braking ability. I suggest you have the brake fluid leak...
Unhooking the battery and jumping the positive and negative terminals should clear any trouble codes. Be sure to unhook both as this can be very dangerous if not done properly. If not experienced in doing this, I would recommend having...
The brake lights are turned on and off by the brake light relay in the underhood relay box. This relay is controlled by the body control module and is signaled by the brake switch (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/brake-light-switch-replacement). Check the relay first to...
Hello, thank you for writing in. The trip reset button is located at the next to the readout. It is hard to see because they are black on black and hidden out of the way. Some models utilize the set...
Hi there. Usually the reduced power light is caused by an engine component failure, like the throttle body, TPS or bad O2 sensors. It is very possible that the additional transmission fluid has created a trouble code that might have...
Hi there. The symptoms sound like the fuel pump relay (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/fuel-pump-relay-replacement) is getting hot and cutting off the fuel pump. Check the fuel pump relay and see if its getting hot. If the relay is getting hot, then the fuel...
