The windows will not go up due to the top malfunction. The car needs to know where the top is to allow window movement. There is some failure in the convertible too (sensor, actuator, module, etc) that is triggering all of this. Given the complexity of the roof system, A proper fault scan and diagnostic on a bmw scan tool will be the only way to determine the exact underlying cause

I have a 2007 [328i](/topics-328i/) convertible and windows won't roll up Mechanic's Assistant: Is this your first time dealing with this issue?
