Hello, my name is\*\*\*\*\* to hear that you are having issues with your Acura MDX.
From the things I can gather from what you said, it seems like there connection problem at a main power source. I have seen that happen a few times on some MDX's and one of the possible issues could be due to a poor connection at the battery terminals. I would recommend taking off both positive and negative cables and doing a thorough cleaning and making sure there is no corrosion, no film on the cable end or on the battery posts. Please also make sure the battery cable end is fully seated on the battery post and almost touching the battery surface for proper fitment.
Another thing to check is that the main battery negative cable ground is tight and also clean. You can follow the negative cable to where it is bolted to the body. You can take that bolt off and sand down the are slightly, to make sure it's getting a proper grounding.

I have checked all of those but now I'm think it might be the alternator. I've changed it before but I'm not sure if it's even possible that it could already be the alternator when I changed it a year ago

May I ask how you were able restart the vehicle after the car died?

It turned on again but after like a minute after trying to turn on the vehicleBut I find it weird how I can sit there for minutes trying to turn on the car and nothing will happen but once I open my driver side door manually it then lets me turn on the car on again

If it was a failed alternator, it would have drained the battery voltage down, and not allowed the vehicle to restart. So, I think the possibility of it being the alternator is very slim. The vibration from opening and closing the door may have caused it to allow battery power to function again. So, something like the main relay may be the culprit or a grounding/connection issue would be more what I would look into.

Hi there. Without a little more information, the first things that come to mind are a faulty wheel bearing (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/wheel-bearings-replacement), a CV axle (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/axle-cv-shaft-assembly-replacement) that is going bad, a brake issue, or any number of other possible causes for the...
Hi there. Sounds like the transmission range selector sensor is failing. Check the harness to the range selector on the transmission shifter located on the housing of the transmission. Visually look at the sensor and see if its broken or...

Hi Tyler. If the transmission fluid was a dirty brown when it was replaced, it's possible that you've got an inner seal that is faulty - or the transmission fluid filter is corroded, creating a blockage inside hydraulic lines. I...
Hi Latrice. Thanks for sending in your question today. Yes - the radiator leak is likely the reason for the smoke. It would be a good idea to replace the radiator thermostat housing as soon as possible to reduce the...

The sensor is located beneath the intake manifold. To gain access, remove the air filter and intake housing. Remove the drive belt and alternator. Unplug intake tuning connector and then beneath the intake you will see the 2-wire cylinder head...
