The air intake system draws air from outside of the vehicle, and blends it with the gas to create the optimal fuel mixture for your vehicle. The throttle body is the part of this system responsible for controlling exactly how much air is added to the gas. When the throttle body gets dirty, it is unable to allow the optimum amount of air into the air intake system, and the air-gas equation will be incorrect. As a result, your engine will not run smoothly.
