Abnormal wearing on the tread of your tires is always cause for concern. Abnormal wear suggests that your wheels are not set right with the road, and therefore your car is not driving correctly. If the ball joints or control arms fail (the control arm bushings are particularly susceptible), then your wheels will absorb too much force from the road, and may be jarred such that they become misaligned.
