I have 2005 Audi A6 4.2V8 and it’s making. Rattling noice when I rev the car but when it idles it makes no noice and I took it to a mechanic and they said it could be this one tensioner and pulley so I got the parts but I took it to another place just to make sure and they said it was the chains that they were loose so idk who to believe but would the symptoms of the chain be ? And also when i sprayed water where the pulleys are the noice went away for 10 seconds so I’m not sure if it’s that or it’s actually the chains
