An air injection system is responsible for injecting extra air into your vehicle’s exhaust system. The system pulls air from outside the vehicle, and pumps it through the air injection hose, and into the exhaust system, where it helps convert carbon monoxide into carbon dioxide. If your air injection hose breaks, the necessary amount of air will not be added into the car’s exhaust system.
