Your clutch operates on hydraulic pressure. The clutch fluid is contained in a reservoir in the engine compartment that is connected to the clutch pedal in the car. When the clutch pedal is pressed, the fluid activates a clutch release on the manual transmission, allowing the clutch plate to freewheel. If the clutch pressure reservoir is leaking, plugged or has a bad internal seal, the clutch pedal will not operate smoothly.
Clutch problems can easily go undetected on a vehicle inspection as they are subject to only a quick drive. If you suspect a problem with your clutch pressure reservoir, have it diagnosed by one of our expert mechanics.
Clutch problems can present a danger in traffic. If you can’t shift effectively, you can’t maneuver your way out of potentially dangerous situations in a timely fashion. If left untreated your vehicle might become stuck in neutral as well as other complications.
